# Your choices about interest-based ads

How to opt out of interest-based advertising from Ailumic, and the controls your device and browser already give you.

Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-10-31 · Last updated 2026-10-31

## Interest-based advertising

Interest-based advertising chooses which ad to show using what a browser or device has done on other companies’ sites and apps. Opting out does not stop ads; it stops them being chosen that way.

## Where Ailumic is today

Ailumic’s advertising service is **not buying ads yet**, so no Ailumic cookie or identifier exists on any browser or device. You can still record an opt-out now by email, and it will apply from the day we start.

## Your Global Privacy Control signal

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a setting in some browsers and extensions that tells every site you visit not to sell or share your data. We treat it as a valid opt-out for the browser that sends it.

This page checks for the signal when JavaScript is on; it stores nothing.

## Opt out of Ailumic

- **By email:** write to [support@ailumic.com](mailto:support@ailumic.com?subject=Opt%20out) with “Opt out” in the subject. If you can, include your device’s advertising ID; otherwise we apply the opt-out to every identifier we can link to your request.

An opt-out persists. When you opt out, we stop using that browser’s or device’s identifiers for interest-based advertising and dissociate the data already linked to them. We act on opt-outs within 15 business days.

## Your device’s controls

- **iPhone and iPad:** Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track”.
- **Android:** Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google → Ads), and choose “Delete advertising ID”.

## Your browser’s controls

Browsers let you block third-party cookies and turn on Global Privacy Control. If you delete your cookies, a cookie-based opt-out is deleted too, and you may need to opt out again.

## Industry tools

The Digital Advertising Alliance’s [WebChoices](https://optout.aboutads.info/) and the Network Advertising Initiative’s [opt-out page](https://optout.networkadvertising.org/) let you opt out of many companies at once. **Ailumic is not yet listed in them**, so use the options above to opt out of Ailumic.

## What opting out does

You will still see ads, including ads we buy, but they will not be chosen using your activity on other sites and apps. Ads may still use the page you are on, the time of day or your general location.

## Your other rights

Your rights to access, correct and delete data, and to appeal a decision, are in the[privacy policy](https://www.ailumic.com/privacy/#us).
